There are several ways of filtering and looking through your coverage.

Firstly, navigate to the Media Monitoring module >

Initial filtering:

  1. Search for content by entering Boolean.

  2. Advanced keywords slightly changes option 1 >

Adding the advanced search option expands the ability to search within the Headline and/or the Article body, instead of just looking at both.

  3. Simply select the type of coverage you require to search.

  4. Select the date range you wish to look up.

Show Advanced Search

This provides additional filters and options using the setup of your brief, this is where the use of Tags and Tag Groups is extremely important. There are quite a few, but these are a breakdown of the most used:

News

Sentiment - Allows you to look at coverage with specific sentiment.

Category - This is customisable for you by the support team so you can find coverage associated with e.g. different teams.

Tag Groups - These are collections of Tags. e.g. Competitors, Spokespeople.

Tags - Manually or auto populated and added to coverage. These are assigned to Tag Groups.

AVE Min & Max - Allows you to filter coverage by it's AVE value.

Hide Duplicates - There are 3 levels:

  • Same date, headline, outlet (or same Doc ID) * does not affect manually created records

An example of this type of coverage is where an online article has been updated and therefore been given a new URL. The platform recognises this as a new article and it is therefore duplicated.

  • Same date, headline (i.e. regardless of outlet)

An example of this type of coverage is where an article has been syndicated to regional outlets. Same story, same headline.

  • Same headline (i.e. regardless of date, outlet)

This option is best used if you wish to see unique stories. For example when looking up competitor coverage.

Outlets / Organisations, Contacts

Outlet - Allows you to look at coverage from specific outlets. However these are only outlets that coverage has come in for within the current date range.

Country - Depending on your subscription, if you are tracking different countries, this allows you to define this.

Target Areas - Allows you to filter by the area the Outlet is based in.

Target Outlet List - This allows you to look up coverage created by outlets from specific outlet list you have created. E.g. Target Media Lists. These are created in the Database modules. Please click HERE for further information.

Media Type - This allows more granular selection of Types of media.

Related Items

Related Release - Find coverage which has been manually or automatically associated with previously sent Press Releases.

Related Subject - Find coverage which has been manually or automatically associated with Subjects / Issues.

Click search once you have selected all filtering criteria.
