Target Outlet Lists

Filter Coverage by Target Media by building a dedicated Group

Written by Jonathan Holland

Target Outlet Lists allow you to filter media coverage in the Monitoring Inbox Module to focus exclusively on results from specific media outlets. These lists are created in the Database Module, configured in the Groups Module, and applied as search filters within Media Monitoring.

Prerequisite: This feature is available to users who have access to both the Media Database and Monitoring Inbox modules.

Create an Outlet Group

  1. Navigate to the Database Module.

  2. Select the media outlets you wish to monitor and save them into an Outlet Group.

  3. To walk through the process, use this guide

Configure the Group as a Target Outlet List

  1. Navigate to the Groups Module from the main navigation menu.

  2. Click on your Outlet Group to open its detail view.

  3. Locate the Target List toggle switch in the upper-right corner.

  4. Toggle the switch ON.

Important Configuration Rules:

  • Outlets-Only Requirement: A group can only be converted into a Target List if it contains Outlets exclusively (lists containing individual contacts or journalists cannot be set as Target Lists).

  • Automatic Locking: Enabling Target List status locks the list to preserve data integrity across monitoring filters.

  • Updating Outlets: To add or remove outlets in the future, toggle the Target List switch OFF, make your required additions or edits, and then toggle the switch back ON.

Apply the Filter in the Monitoring Inbox

  1. Open the Monitoring Inbox Module.

  2. Expand the Search Filters menu.

  3. Locate the Target Outlet List filter and select your configured group to isolate coverage from those targeted outlets.
