What is the difference between Keywords & Tags?
What is the difference between Keywords & Tags?
Keywords - Vuelio utilises combinations of keywords with connecting terms, qualifiers and /or exclusions (advanced boolean search logic) to source the articles that we deliver into your platform. To further ensure accurate results, consider including variations of your target keywords. For example, you can include synonyms or related phrases, such as substituting "technology reviews" with "tech reviews" or "IT evaluations". Additionally, implementing keyword exclusions can help refine your results by eliminating articles that do not meet your requirements. For instance, excluding irrelevant terms like 'ABC Coalition' or 'XYZ Fund' can significantly improve the relevance of the content you receive.
Practical limitations arise due to clip allowances and subscription features, so users must balance coverage needs with these constraints.
Depending on your subscription we may cover any of the following sources: print, online, broadcast, social and / or podcasts and can apply tailored search terms to these different media types to ensure we monitor only relevant content. Regular refinement of your keywords and exclusions is also recommended to adapt to changing needs and ensure continuous relevance of the monitored content.
It is recommended to focus on monitoring up to four primary keywords or search topics to balance broad coverage and efficiency.
Tags - These are used to categorise coverage within the Vuelio platform, tags are bespoke to each client and are used to surface mentions of companies, spokespeople, topics, themes and the like. Tags are applied automatically based on specific keywords appearing within your articles; tags can be used as filters to easily find coverage as well as being incredibly useful for analysis, eg. comparing different tags - eg. volume of company mentions vs competitors, or spokesperson share of voice. Additionally, grouping related keywords or themes under a single tag can help ensure that all relevant content is captured during a search, providing a more comprehensive view of the topics you are monitoring. Tags can also aid in filtering and narrowing down your focus as per your monitoring goals, thus ensuring higher precision in your analysis.
Set up your Tags! Why are they Important?
Set up your Tags! Why are they Important?
As per the above, Tags can be used to label your content. However these Tags can also be used as a filter in your search for content, aswell as provide you with a whole host of Charts!
The Mindshare Dashboard in the Monitoring Inbox will utilise these Tags to allow you to split the data from standard charts. In the charts below we take everyday data like sentiment, reach or even just a split of content received across a certain set of Tags >
Dashboards - Your charts, your way.
Dashboards - Your charts, your way.
Our set of default Dashboards will provide you with a good starting point to create your own charts and set up. However, if you use the aforementioned Tags, you could be missing out on additional ways of reporting.
Dashboards, once created are shared by your organisation so you can create your own set of Charts required for each type of set of reporting. These can also be set as your default if required.
We already have a few Dashboards for you to choose from, but allowing the customisation and use of charts spanning across all three of these dedicated Dashboards (Standard, Prominence, Mindshare) allows optimisation when exporting of charts and PDF's of the entire Dashboard. We all have quota's and goals set for us, but beyond just standard numbers, what could work well with the Vuelio platform?
Coverage by Top Tier reading lists
It is possible with the use of Target Outlet Lists, to set up a report for how much coverage has been received from your most important titles.
Step by Step set up:
Create a Target Outlet List
Apply your TOL as a filter to your monitoring coverage
Use the Top Outlets Chart to determine a rise or fall.
Split By Charts
Some charts in the Dashboards will have the ability to filter the chart by certain Tags and Filters. Further to this, the 'Split By' option will allow you to add a second level of data. Therefore a Tag Chart can add Split By 'Source', which in turn shows the breakdown of Tags by their Source >
Split coverage by Top Tags
What Tags/Mentions are most important to you? Do you wish to show the most talked about themes where your organisation are referenced? Or which competitors are getting the most coverage around a certain subject?
Step by Step set up:

What happens if I miss coverage/articles?
What happens if I miss coverage/articles?
Accurate and comprehensive article coverage is crucial for effective media monitoring. When you first get set up on the Monitoring Inbox, there may be a period of refining your keywords and wider account >
If you suspect an article has been missed in the monitoring system, follow these steps:
Review Keyword Brief: - Check your keyword brief to ensure it includes terms relevant to your monitoring focus. - Missed articles often result from exclusion filters. Regularly review excluded terms and ensure they still apply to your search strategy.
Contact Support for Print Coverage Issues: - Reach out to Vuelio’s support team to investigate potential problems with the print coverage feed. - The team may contact the supplier to confirm if the feed is running correctly.
Share Specific Examples: - Provide details of the articles you expected to see but were missing. - This will enable a targeted investigation into possible causes.
Request Configuration Review: - If errors in provider setup are suspected, request a review and update of configurations. For example, removing overly restrictive conditions can broaden coverage.
By following these guidelines and utilizing the troubleshooting steps outlined above, you can ensure more reliable and comprehensive article coverage in Vuelio's monitoring systems:
Regularly Update Keyword Briefs: - Ensure that your keyword brief is kept up-to-date with relevant terms aligned to your focus areas. This proactive measure reduces the risk of missing critical content.
Audit Monitoring Configurations: - Periodically review the configurations of your monitoring setup to identify and correct restrictive conditions before they cause issues.
Stay in Touch with Support Teams: - Build a routine of consistent communication with Vuelio’s support team. Timely, ongoing checks can ensure all feeds and configurations run smoothly.
Setting and Refining Search Criteria
Setting and Refining Search Criteria
When creating search terms, include key phrases relevant to your objectives. For instance, you might incorporate keywords like “housing,” “development,” or specific company names to ensure coverage of interest is flagged.
Add variations of terms to improve coverage. For example, if tracking an organization such as "The People’s Partnership," include variations such as "People’s Partnership" or "The People's Pension." Avoid redundancy by ensuring existing terms already cover these variations.
Use tags or Boolean operators like "AND," "OR," and "NOT" to refine search results, ensuring only relevant mentions are included while excluding unrelated articles. This strategy is key to managing large data sets efficiently.
Exclusion terms prevent irrelevant mentions from being flagged. For example, if "dividend" leads to unrelated results, exclude it from your keyword list. Regular review ensures no unintended exclusions occur.
To refine filters for specific events or topics (e.g., event coverage), provide examples of irrelevant articles to identify keywords for exclusion. This ensures accurate filtering without removing important coverage.
Resolving Email Alert Delivery Issues
Resolving Email Alert Delivery Issues
Verify Email Delivery and Check Your Spam Folder
First, ensure that the alerts are not being delivered to your spam or junk email folders. Misclassification of emails can happen due to strict spam filters.
Whitelist Vuelio's Email Domain
Ask your IT team to whitelist the email address [email protected]. This ensures that emails from Vuelio bypass spam filters and other blocking mechanisms on your email server.
Check for Bounce List Issues: If an email is on a bounce list, it will not receive alerts. Contact your IT team and: - Whitelist the sender email address [email protected]. - Additionally, whitelist [email protected] to ensure deliverability from all potential sender addresses associated with Vuelio.
Remember that domains may periodically need to be re-added to safe sender lists after security updates.
Need More Help?
If you’ve tried these steps and still do not receive your expected alerts, please reach out to Vuelio support: [email protected]. Provide as much information about the issue for quicker resolution.
