Let's firstly look at the filters. The filters above allow you to:-

Distributions Status - What type of Distributions are you looking for? Are they emails? Posted to Canvas? Or are they published to your website?
Global Category - When you create and send Distributions you have the ability to categorise them relating to your Business areas. However these are fully customisable and you may speak to our support team if you need to change these in the future.
Owner - Are you just looking for your own releases to create a report? or just Distributions created by a select few?

Saved Searches
Saved searches allow you to save the filters previously selected to use again, without having to remember or add them again. If you are looking to view a set of Distributions by a certain user, or if you are an agency you can look up Distributions for certain clients at the click of a couple of buttons, instead of having to select all filters time and time again.
Set your filters first, then click Create along the top >
Here you can then name your search and click "Save".
If the future you can bring up a previously saved search by clicking "Load" and selecting the search. The platform will then restore the filters you chose for that search and the Distributions matching that selection will appear.
