If you are not familiar with the News Archive, Click HERE for an initial guide.

There are 2 ways of viewing charts in the News Archive, summarising the data.

Preview Panel

The analytics preview panel allows you to see charts and data based on the search results within the News Archive module.

You will be able to see the following charts:

  • Articles by number of Total Contacts

  • Articles by number of Total Outlets

  • Coverage by date, overtime

  • Top Outlets

  • Top Contacts

  • Top Countries

View Stats

Click 'View Stats' along the top right of the screen. This will allow a pop out panel which will summarise the results of the current search >

Download charts as images

There will be an option to download each chart individually as a JPG file by clicking the JPG icon as highlighted below >

Analytics Dashboard

The analytics dashboard is a more thorough look at the data from the results of your News Archive search.

Firstly click the icon in the top left to navigate to it >

Charts on this larger dashboard will include all the above charts from the Preview panel, but also the additional:

Total Articles - Number of articles.

Percentage of Source (Media) Types - The split of Media types by percentage.

Top Topics - Applied via AI using keywords & language within the articles.

Top Focus - E.g. Local, International.

Outlet Rank - Outlets are measured using the following system:

  • Rank 1 - Top international, national, and business news sources.

  • Rank 2 - Top regional sources.

  • Rank 3 - Broad range of news sources of good editorial quality.

  • Rank 4 - Broad range of news sources, newswire sources and sources with a local focus.

Each chart will either have 3 dots, which allows the user to download the chart to a JPG file, or there will be an additional button named "Detailed".

This will show an enlarged version of the chart, with the table of coverage at the bottom. The columns of this table are also sortable and can be exported to an excel file.
