The Political Monitoring module contains all intelligence sent to you via your regular alerts but also our entire archive of political content regardless of search parameters, giving you full access to a rich library of previous political activity for ad-hoc searching and reporting.
There are two ways of navigating to reporting:
Selecting Political from the main navigation:
Then selecting Reports from the options bar:
OR
Select Reports from the main navigation:
Once at the Reporting dashboard, you have numerous options and filters to navigate the content:
Up on the top right (see in the image above), you have the ability to select if you wish to include or exclude Weekend Data, just next to that is the option to select the relevant Date Range.
There are two types of Dashboard:
Monitoring Dashboard - This shows content which is received from political activity and segmented into handy charts. Top twitter authors, political segments are to just name a few.
Distribution Dashboard - Directly Relates to Press Release Distributions sent via the platform and breaks down the data in terms of the Category type, who created the distributions and how many were sent in the date range selected.
Firstly we'll look at the Monitoring Dashboard and it's options. Down the left hand side there are several filters like the Political Monitoring module, but instead of showing the content below, on this screen, the data will show in the charts on the right:
Saved Search
This filter allows you to use previously saved content searches, just click Load, Select the search and click Load at the bottom. You can also search through these if that makes it easier for you. Charts will then show all the data from this search on the right hand side. Click to the Charts part of this tutorial:
Filters
Then you have all the other filters to choose from which enable you to select specific areas of content:
Search Reports - At the top of the filters allows you to free text to look at content with particular keyword mentions.
Stream Type – Allows you to choose which type of stream you would like to include within the report > Online or Social are the options you have.
Stream - Allows you to select specific streams you would like to include in the reports, e.g. ‘Written Questions & Answers’.
Political Segment – Select the content from specific Political Segments and the sources associated with them.
Parliamentary Participant – Type in the search field to select specific members of Parliament and see the content via the charts for those who are mentioned.
Tags – If you have Tagged content, these will be grouped here. Either select the tags you wish to see content from, or type to search your existing Tags.
Author – Type in the search field to search for content by a specific author. Or select from the list.
Source – Either select the Source you wish to see content from, or type for a more specific search.
Charts Available on the Monitoring Dashboard
Each filter has it’s own chart. Each chart in the top right hand corner has the ability to download or expand the information.
Downloading the chart allows you to download content of the report to:
CSV: This downloads the top 2,000 records by publish dates and includes all the key fields relating to your reports.
Word: Similar to the existing Word export on the Monitoring module but when exporting from the Reports module it includes a chart with the top 50 results by date.
JPG: This downloads a JPG image of the chart.
Expand the chart to view a breakdown of the content included in the chart. This is still viewed via the platform so you will still have the option of downloading the chart separately >
The table below also includes a URL to the article directly >
